One way to help your children develop the tripod grip is to use broken crayons.  I know…it’s hard to break those perfect crayons and you may be tempted to throw them away… No more!   Children will develop the appropriate skills to start drawing, printing, and writing.  Encourage your children to use small pieces of crayons, chalk, short pencils (golf pencils are the best), and short markers.

Urg…how do you get boys to write, color, and spend time with their fine motor skills?  The Doodle Track is a fun way to get boys to hold a marker.

The car will follow the marker.  Brilliant, right?!?  Yes, your boy will love it!  The larger the paper the bigger the track can be for the car.  I usually use butcher paper or the back side of wallpaper.  Don’t be afraid to go to your local wall paper stores and ask if they have wallpaper in the back that you could have for free.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. ~Roman 15:4
