It’s my job to teach my children. I buy the books, the bibles, the devotions, we attend church regularly, and we pray often, but is that enough?

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

I do love The Lord with all my heart, and all my soul. But am I repeating that again and again to my children. Do I talk to them at home and on the road, when I’m tucking them in at night and when I’m scrubbing their teeth before school. Am I doing enough? It’s not my churches job it’s our job to teach our children and mold their hearts.

Father, I am sorry if I lack in teaching my children about You. Please help me focus on Your Words and Your Truths. I desire for my children to have a heart like David “a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do” (Acts 13:22). I pray for my children and that they long to know You, they will understand the bible, the stories, and they will be able to apply them to their lives. I ask that they fall deeply in love with You! ~Amen
