Who knew a rock could keep them busy, busy, busy!  With these sweet kiddo’s, I kept the ‘rock’ theme going and I had no idea they would stay focused and enjoy this activity so much.

What you need:

– big rock

-spray bottle (full of water)

-toothbrush (I used one that lit up to monitor sharing time)

-positive attitude because it does make a little mess!

-scripture to teach them the Truth!

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9

Look how are they are working together…

This activity works several different skills:

1) Fine motor skills- Scrubbing with the toothbrush and spraying the bottle helps strengthen the small muscles in the hands.

2). Creativity- Allows the children to be creative and imaginative.

3). Language- Encourages them to communicate about what they are doing and how they are cleaning the rock.

4). Self-worth and Independences- Gives them the ability to complete the task, and not have to be directly monitored (however, supervision is always important). 🙂

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

“my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.  He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior” 2 Samuel 2:23

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,” Colossians 3:23
