We know how important outdoor play is for children and how it helps them grow and develop in all areas of their life. But, we also make it too complicated…we think we have to have the latest and greatest Alpine custom swing set or the biggest Tikes Endless play set. Children just want to be outside…they want to run, jump, play tag, play in the sprinklers, kick the ball, and even go on scavenger hunts.
I love this picture of my son and I playing Tic Tac Toe. All we needed was a rock and time. This game allowed us to have great conversation and challenged his thinking skills. Mommas, don’t make it too complicated! All your child wants to do is play and spend time with you! Nothing fancy…this was just a rock and pavement.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. ~Psalm 62:6 (NLT)
And he will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’ ~Psalm 8:26
Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock ~Isaiah 26:4
Love how you can teach scripture during play!
