painting chair 3

Doing projects together strengthens your child in so many ways.  It allows them to have some independence while letting them complete a task.

We decided to take this $5.00 chair and add a little color.  I love how he is paying attention to the details.

This picture explains it all.  If you notice he’s not painting it evenly but that’s okay….I had to remember that the chair was $5.00 and the goal was to build him up.  Sometimes it’s hard for me and I want to take over.  When I’m feeling this way I usually start up conversation.  Boy did I learn a lot today…I learned about the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs…I learned about why bumblebees have stingers…and I learned several new jokes! (What did the Pacific ocean say to the Atlantic ocean? Nothing, it just waved…hahaha)

After the paint was dry we applied a wax onto the chair.  You really can’t mess this up so we did it inside and he completed this task all by himself!

Voila! It’s in place and looks great!  This project allowed my son and I to enjoy our morning together and complete a task!  He can’t wait to show his daddy and sisters!!!

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
